DPK Consulting Welcomes Gregory J. Cook, PLS, Strengthening Survey Leadership and Technical Expertise

DPK Consulting is pleased to announce that Gregory J. Cook, PLS has joined the firm as the Director of Survey, bringing more than four decades of surveying experience and leadership to DPK’s growing team.

Licensed in New Jersey and recognized throughout the region for his work on transportation, infrastructure, heavy civil construction, utilities, railroads, airports, and land development, Greg has built a career defined by technical excellence, project leadership, and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of survey professionals.

Throughout his career, Greg has managed surveying operations on many of the region’s most complex projects—from boundary and topographic surveys to construction layout, LiDAR control, GPS networks, right-of-way documentation, and survey department management.

While Greg’s technical credentials are extensive, what attracted him to DPK was something less tangible, the company’s culture.

“The energy that DPK brings to the table is what really stood out to me,” said Cook. “The organization, the investment in training, and the commitment to helping people grow instead of simply expecting them to know everything immediately creates an environment where both employees and clients benefit.”

That philosophy aligns closely with Greg’s own professional journey. Early in his career, he was exposed to nearly every discipline within surveying, learning traditional field methods, mathematical computations, deed research, and property analysis long before today’s digital technologies transformed the profession.

“Those experiences gave me a strong foundation,” Greg explained. “Now I see this stage of my career as an opportunity to give back, to serve as a mentor, a sounding board, and to help the next generation of surveyors continue advancing our profession.”

For DPK Consulting’s customers, Greg’s arrival represents another investment in technical depth and project leadership. His experience adds another seasoned Professional Land Surveyor to the firm’s leadership team, strengthening DPK’s ability to deliver thoughtful solutions across increasingly complex surveying assignments.

“Every customer deserves to feel that their project is important,” Greg said. “Our responsibility is to deliver the very best product possible while providing the level of service and attention that builds lasting relationships.”

Greg is equally excited about embracing the technologies shaping the future of surveying. Having spent much of his career mastering traditional survey methods, he looks forward to expanding his expertise in areas such as advanced mapping, 3D laser scanning, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), helping DPK continue delivering innovative solutions that improve project efficiency and accuracy.

Beyond the office, Greg enjoys entertaining family and friends around his outdoor kitchen, visiting county fairs throughout Pennsylvania, and spending time with his two Labrador Retrievers—one of which serves as a certified therapy dog, helping bring comfort and encouragement to others.

“Greg brings exactly the kind of experience, leadership, and collaborative mindset that strengthens our organization,” said James Heiser, President and CEO of DPK Consulting. “His extensive project background, commitment to mentoring others, and desire to continue learning make him an outstanding addition to our team. As DPK continues to grow, experienced professionals like Greg help ensure we continue delivering the exceptional quality and customer service our customers have come to expect.”

With Greg Cook joining the team, DPK Consulting continues to invest in experienced professionals who combine deep technical knowledge with a passion for innovation, collaboration, and exceptional customer service.
